What this site is for
This is patient education about the nose after a previous nasal operation, published by Chongqing West District Hospital, a tertiary general hospital in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. It is a triage guide rather than a list of complications. The reader it is written for is a year into living with a nose that is not what they expected, or a week into a recovery that has developed a symptom that worries them, and who needs to know which of those two situations they are in.
The distinction the site is built on
Two questions are kept apart throughout. The first is whether anything is wrong now: is the airway safe, is the septum intact, is the skin over the nose healthy. The second is whether the nose is the shape it should be, which cannot be answered until healing has finished. The first is answered now and, where the answer is bad, treated now. The second is answered after about a year. Confusing the two is how patients end up either waiting on a septum that needed draining or asking for a revision of a nose that was still settling.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not describe rhinoplasty technique or graft handling, because the operations and the anatomy they work on are explained on the face hub and on the rhinoplasty sites. It does not name products or brands, quote prices or dosages, or promise a result. It does not present a revision as a way to obtain the nose a patient originally asked for, because with less cartilage and a tighter envelope that is not a promise any surgeon can keep. And it does not publish an emergency telephone number, a room number or a set of opening hours of its own.
The limits of a website
Nothing here can tell you whether your septum is intact, how much cartilage remains, what your airway is doing after decongestion, or how thick the skin over your tip is. Those are established in person in a few minutes, and they decide everything. Use this site to arrive at an assessment with better questions and to recognise the findings that should not wait, and treat any answer you take from it as general information rather than as advice about you.
